Smokers 'more health conscious' since Covid-19 outbreak

Today marks the start of the annual 'Stoptober' campaign

There's been increased demand for help stopping smoking during the coronavirus outbreak.

That's according to Public Health Isle of Man's Senior Health Improvement Officer Lauren McLaghlan, who runs the Island's stop smoking service.

Today marks the start of 'Stoptober', the annual campaign urging smokers to give up cigarettes for a month, increasing their chances of quitting long term.

Ms McLaghlan says people are more concerned about their health since the start of the pandemic:
