Electrical fault causes Onchan house blaze
Two pet snakes had to be evacuated after a house fire in Onchan yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the property in Ashley Park after reports of thick black smoke coming from the windows.
Firefighters were quick to confirm nobody was in the house before going on to remove the pets.
The blaze was extinguished with a hose, and an investigation found the cause of the fire was an electrical fault on a fridge.
Crews remained at the property for around two hours whilst the building was vented.
