A Manx Social Services Bill will soon be facing its toughest hurdle so far.
The Department of Social Care introduced the proposed legislation as part of the government's aim to protect the wellbeing of families.
The package of proposals was given its second reading at last week's sitting of the House of Keys, and members will examine the clauses in the near future.
The department says the legislation would give greater clarity of its services, and greater choice to meet the needs of individuals.
