Some buses operating; Santa Trains on Monday

A limited bus service has been operating today (Sunday) on some of the routes least affected by the snow and ice.

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure issued the following information at different times this morning:

Route 11 & 12 started at 9.30am, leaving Lord Street every half hour.

Route 11 & 12 running as per time table, running via Quarterbridge, Castletown Square and Shore Road to Bridson Street, Port Erin. Return journeys from Bridson Street also every hallf an hour. 

Route 11 & 12 will serve the Douglas area via Lord Street, Prospect Hill, Bucks Road, Glencrutchery Road, the Manx Arms and Royal Avenue, then back via the promenade.

Route 3 & 3a started running from Lord street and Ramsey Depot at 09:40am, with services every hour.

Route 5 & 6 started running between Lord Street and Peel at 11:00am, then every hour on the hour after that to Peel only and back to Douglas, but not serving Noble's Hospital or Strang Road in either direction. 

An extra Route 5 service ran from Lord Street to Nobles Hospital from 10.30am, and every 30 minutes thereafter. 

Other routes were continuing to be assessed for possible services.

The department's Santa Trains which were due to run on Saturday (December 18) will now operate on Monday (December 20) instead.

Tickets for Saturday will be valid on any Monday service.

The trains will run mainly between Douglas and Castletown with regular 'Tinsel Town' shuttle buses, but Port Erin will also be served in both directions at certain times.
