Some coronavirus restrictions may be eased next week

Construction and horticulture sectors in line to start up again

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan says some coronavirus restrictions may be eased from Friday next week.

It could see workers in certain sectors being able to go back to their jobs.

He made the announcement at this afternoon's government media briefing.

Mr Cannan said the chief minister would announce more details next week, but it all depended on how people behaved between now and then, though:

Since this morning’s update there have been two further positive cases of Covid-19, taking the total number to 291 confirmed cases on the Isle of Man.

In total 276 patients have been instructed to self-isolate, and 11 are being treated at the hospital.

The contact tracing process is already underway led by public health.

There have been 2,259 concluded tests, 116 people are awaiting results, and 56 people are awaiting tests.

Government says 169 people are ‘presumed recovered’

There have been four deaths related to coronavirus on the Isle of Man.
