Some Manx Care services to be impacted on bank holiday

Cancer treatment and time-sensitive procedures being prioritised

Some Manx Care services will be affected on the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral next Monday (19 September).

The health body has confirmed cancer treatment and time-sensitive treatments are being prioritised.

Manx Care has contacted any patients who've had appointments cancelled and they will be offered rescheduled times in the coming days and weeks.

Anyone with an appointment on Monday who hasn't been contacted should assume their slot is going ahead unless they hear from Manx Care in the next 48 hours.

GP surgeries on Island will also be closed on Monday, 19 September in line with usual bank holiday hours.

Anyone needing immediate emergency treatment should call 999 and speak to the Emergency Services Joint Control Room.

Those needing an urgent appointment when their doctor's surgery is shut should call MEDS on 650 355.

Meanwhile, three community pharmacies will be open on reduced hours next Monday.

The pharmacies and their opening times are listed below:

  • Costains Pharmacy, Ballasalla - 9am until 11am
  • Lloyds Pharmacy Shoprite, Ramsey - 10am until 11am
  • Boots, Douglas - 10am until 11am & 1pm until 4.30pm
