Says cost-cutting measures already made will help it survive
The Southern Swimming Pool Board says it's "confident" cost-cutting measures it's already made will keep the facility open until a new pool is built.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture had wanted to recommend stopping the pool's funding because of expected rises in the amount needed to run it.
That decision was reversed however after a financial plan was agreed to, by the local authorities in the south, which will see rates increased to pay towards it.
Education Minister Julie Edge has pledged that a six-lane pool will be built on the site of the new Castle Rushen High School.
Building's expected to start there in 2029 at the earliest.
