SPC: 'We've no intentions of firing anyone'

But managing director says it's time to change the business model

The Steam Packet says it’s not ‘trying to fire’ any of its staff and claims that’s its ‘doing a P&O’ are ‘misleading’.

The company has hit back at two unions saying it’s simply trying to change its business model.

Nautilus claims its members have been threatened with the sack if they don’t agree to new terms and conditions which will include staff living onboard the vessel for either one or two weeks.

RMT says whilst it’s not in dispute over the live onboard aspect it hasn’t accepted the proposed changes; the Steam Packet, however, claims it's received a signed contract.
