Caught doing 47mph in a 30 zone
A teenager from Ramsey will have to keep his R-plates on for an extra three months, after police spotted him speeding.
Eighteen-year-old Jordan Anthony Fergusson, of Balleigh Park, admitted the offence through a coroner’s admission before magistrates.
The hearing at Douglas courthouse was told police stopped his Ford Puma outside Dhoon School on 28 May, after catching him doing 47mph in a 30 zone.
He told officers he thought the limit was 50mph.
Fergusson was fined £170 and had four points put on his driving licence, as well as being ordered to pay £50 costs and keep the R-plates on.
