Spot of satire gives two local charities a boost

Peel Centenary Centre and Lifeboat receive £750

Two Peel charities have received £750 each thanks to a spot of satire.

The Centenary Centre and Peel Lifeboat were the nominated recipients after a show put on by Manx Radio earlier this year.

IM1...Live is a tongue-in-cheek look at Island life.

The money given to the Centenary Centre will go towards new stage lighting, while Peel Lifeboat says the donation they've been given will help them buy essential equipment.

The western crew welcomed their new vessel back in March, and Stuart Blackley says significant progress has been made with the boathouse:
