Squirrel monkeys born at Wildlife Park

The Wildlife Park has been doing its bit to help one of the world's endangered species.

The fifth baby squirrel monkey of the year was born on Sunday, which means all of the Curraghs' females of the species have given birth this year.

Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys are classified as endangered by wildlife conservation authorities, which has led to a Europe-wide breeding programme to boost numbers.

Wildlife Park general Manager, Nick Pinder, says they are very proud of of their record of breeding the monkeys and contributing to international efforts to save the species in zoos.
