Staff absences rising 'significantly' at Castle Rushen High School

Two year groups to miss school this week

Some students at Castle Rushen High School are being told not to come to school tomorrow.

The head teacher says it's due to staff absences rising 'significantly' and has warned it's not yet clear if all school years will be taught on site next week.

Year 10 pupils will miss a full academic day tomorrow.

Year 9 pupils will miss Friday but the school says this will have a reduced academic impact due to the fact PE was taking place in the afternoon.

Parents and carers have received an apology from Mr Winstanley who has told them he had hoped the 'worst was over'.

Remote learning will be provided 'within the constraints of illness'.
