Bus driver talks with government break down
Any disruption caused by bus drivers' industrial action over the Festival of Motorcycling week will be 'minimised', according to Infrastructure bosses.
It was announced yesterday (Fri) that talks surrounding holidays between government and union members had failed - and transport staff will impose an embargo on overtime hours next week.
It's after the DoI attempted to limit the amount of time off allowed during TT fortnight.
Minister Ray Harmer claims the cost of taking on cover staff is around £100,000 per year.
He says it's regrettable this situation has come about:
Lessons learned after snow day confusion
More than 100 firearms surrendered
Planning application to extend TT hospitality tent for new Food and Drink Festival submitted
'No tangible positives' achieved by public sector integrity line, says trade union
