Castletown petrol station to close for several weeks
After 34 years the family which owns Station Garage in Castletown have announced they will be taking a step back from the business.
The site on Victoria Road will be closed for several weeks for refurbishment, starting from 15 April and reopening towards the end of May.
Owner, Michael Owen, says: "As a family, we're taking a step back at the end of this month and retail services will be taken over.
"There'll be a full refit, new petrol pumps and everything, bringing the shop right up to date and everything.
"We've been there now 34 years. We've had a fantastic time and I would say we've had the best of it.
"My dad was in the petrol industry at Tiger Tim's down on the quay in the 60s and 70s and he would probably tell me he had the best of it. But I think the way the world is now and the way things have changed, it's probably the right time to sort of take a step back and move on."

Station Garage has also confirmed that any customers needing to change empty gas bottles should do so before 15 April.
