Ten questions tabled for Tynwald today
It is not government’s responsibility to step into ongoing negotiations between unions and the Steam Packet Company.
That’s from the treasury minister who says there is a ‘clear demarcation’ between the ‘private company’ which is owned by government.
Ten questions relating to the Steam Packet’s operations will be raised on the floor of Tynwald today (17 October).
Alex Allinson will be asked in Tynwald today whether his department would support the company adopting a ‘fire and rehire’ approach to staff terms and conditions.
He's told Manx Radio the Steam Packet is responsible for its own terms and conditions:
