Warning to ensure dimensions are correctly stated on booking

The Isle of Man Steam Packet is urging motorists to make sure they are giving accurate details of the dimensions of their vehicle.

The ferry operator says a number of passengers have had to be turned away because their vehicles were booked under the incorrect size.

It says this is especially important on the Manannan, which has a mezzanine deck fitted during TT.

The message concerns all vehicles excluding motorcycles.

Passengers are told dimensions include any attachments which alter the size of the vehicle such as roof racks, antennae, aerials and bike carriers.

Thousands of visitors are expected to come to the Island via boat over the next two weeks for the Isle of Man TT Races.

The Steam Packet is also asking passengers travelling via Heysham to allow extra time for their journal to the terminal, due to increased traffic congestion in the area.
