Strang woman accused of ABH to stand trial

32-year-old denies assault at home address

A Strang woman will stand trial after denying carrying out an assault which allegedly left a woman with 53 separate injuries.

Jade Karen Cooney, of Cronk Grianagh, appeared at Douglas Courthouse this week where she entered a not guilty plea to assault causing actual bodily harm.

The 32-year-old is said to have committed the offence at her home, with a weapon, on 14 April this year.

Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – will take place on 27 October; she’s been bailed until that date.
