Pupils at QE2 have taken a runners up prize in a United Kingdom-wide competition run by the Observer newspaper.
The 'Ethical people' award recognises efforts to preserve the environment, with Al Gore receiving the top honour last year.
QE2 teacher and Life Skills and Environmental group leader Lesley Sleight says the project undertaken by the pupils has involved a huge amount of work (audio file attached):
