Students' record GCSE results praised

Marks unaffected by curriculum changes

The Island's GCSE students can be proud of their work, following a record-breaking set of grades yesterday.

Sixty per cent of the GCSE students from the Island's five state secondary schools this year achieved five A* - C grades (including English and Maths) for the first time.

Other key figures were in line with previous years.

Mr Smith says it's pleasing these results have been achieved against a backdrop of upheaval, which has seen significant changes to the curriculum and exam system:
