A local expert says the recent discovery of gravitational waves in space is a major milestone in astronomy.
Scientists have detected clear gravitational waves, or ripples through space, that were first theorised by Albert Einstein a hundred years ago.
The discovery came from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (Ligo).
