Successful first year for blood cancer support group

Next meeting on 18th July

A local branch of a blood cancer support group has had great success in its first year -and will be holding another meeting soon.

Regional Development Manager for Lymphoma Action Karen Bonehill set up the on-Island branch 12 months ago, when she realised that many patients had to travel to Liverpool for treatment.

Karen - who covers the whole of Northern England and North Wales - now comes across to the Island every three months to host the group.

Over twenty attended the first meeting and Karen says the group is filling a void for those on the island being treated for blood cancers.

The next meeting is on 18th July at Manx Cancer Help in the Lisa Lowe Centre, on Ballafletcher Road from 5.30 to 7pm, when Julie Wilcock will be talking about complementary therapies.
