
The poor weather this summer has been bad news for the Island's potato crop.
Conditions have meant that potato blight has been rife.
The fungal infection leads to the plants dying off and tubers rotting.
Farmer and Countryside presenter John Kennaugh says with so much rain this year the sprays they use have had minimal effect and whilst it's too early to say exactly how much a of problem this will cause, there is likely to be shortage of local potatoes on the shelves.
