MHK to ask about school meal provision for children sent home
An MHK will ask this week what support is available for children entitled to free school meals if their year group is sent home.
Jason Moorhouse will quiz the education minister on the subject when Tynwald meets for its October sitting from tomorrow (18 October).
Recently some schools have had to ask certain year groups not to attend because of staff shortages due to industrial action or covid.
Mr Moorhouse thinks having assistance in place could be 'essential' this winter, particularly for families on low incomes:
