Condition of Island's private sector housing to be checked
A survey to check the condition of private properties in the Island is not an invasion of privacy, according to the Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister.
Officers from DEFA will be visiting houses, which have been selected at random, to check their condition both outside and inside.
The survey is carried out every five to 10 years and the information gathered could influence future policy on issues such as energy efficiency grants.
Geoffrey Boot says surveys won't be intrusive.
