NASUWT says Island pay award isn't future proof
A pay rise for Island teachers doesn't match the UK situation "on a yearly basis moving forward".
That's from NASUWT union representative Geraldine O'Neill, who says the like-for-like increase with the UK doesn't match up for future years.
It's as the Department of Education, Sport and Culture awarded a 5.5 percent rise for new teachers, and a 2.75 increase for all other staff.
However Ms O'Neill says it's not that simple:
