Flat rate for all planned
A single-tier pension and the end of the Manx pension supplement are on the cards - after the Treasury minister unveiled a raft of welfare reforms.
Eddie Teare says he wants to phase in the changes, which could see pensioners claim a flat £180 per week across the board.
The state pension age is likely to rise in line with life expectancy.
Other reform proposals include a single new Manx benefit for those in and out of work, to simplify the system for claimants and make it cheaper to run.
Reciprocal arrangements on social security with the UK would be renegotiated and in future, workplace pensions could be compulsory.
Mr Teare will present his recommendations to Tynwald later this month.
