Technology a challenge for shifting gov't vehicles to EV

Cars and commercial vehicles predicted to be fully electric by 2030

Electric vehicles are typically seen as the greener option of transport and with government banning the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030, what point are they themselves in the transition to EV?

According to a study produced by Volvo, electric vehicles in small island settings wouldn't be felt for a considerable amount of time.

They've predicted an EV would need to cover more than 90,000 miles before reaching the break-even point for it to contribute less CO2 than an equivalent petrol car.

Government is banning the sale of petrol and diesel cars in 2030 and all hybrid cars are out by 2035.

So where does government stand with regard to electric vehicles within their own fleet?

Isle of Man Transport's Head of Fleet Services, Andy Barker says although replacing cars and commercial vehicles is already in the process of transitioning to electric, heavy duty vehicles will be a challenge:
