A teenager was killed and several others were injured in a traffic accident in the west of the Island last night (Sat)
Emergency services were called to the Switchback Road around 11.15pm where they found a car in a field alongside the road.
It's thought eight teenagers had been in the vehicle, including a 14 year old girl who was dead at the scene.
The other young people were taken to Nobles hospital by ambulance and five are still receiving treatment for their injuries. Two have been released.
Police say support is being given to the family of the girl who lost her life and their thoughts are with them at this tragic time.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a small white vehicle in the west of the Island yesterday evening.
