People struggling to pay rent won't be evicted says OFT
Tenants in both public and private housing who've had finances hit by the impact of Covid-19 will still be protected from evictions until the end of December.
Regulations introduced during the pandemic, that stop landlords evicting those who fail to pay rent in full, have been extended beyond the emergency period.
The legislation will remain in place until 27 December, after which arrangements must be made for rent owed to be paid.
Tenants who feel threatened with eviction unfairly are asked to contact the Office of Fair Trading.
