The Big Lottery Boost

Island charities and community organisations with big ideas are being urged to apply for funding from a new pot of lottery money.

The Big Lottery Fund in the UK has awarded the Manx Lottery Trust £1.5 million over five years.

The Trust will make grants through its Awards Programme, launched online this weekend.

The extra cash will make up a shortfall of around £250,000 per year, in local lottery receipts, from the Manx Treasury.

Chair of the Manx Lottery Trust Neil Bryden says they want to fund projects of real value to local residents:

Information on how to apply is on the Trust's new website: mlt.org.im
