Some classes see change in popularity over time
The organisers of the Guild have stressed the importance of moving with the times.
The 127th Manx Music, Speech and Dance Festival gets underway at the Villa Marina later this week.
While there are many traditional classes, this year sees the introduction of news reading and stand-up comedy competitions.
