The moon gets close to earth

In the unlikely event of the clouds breaking this evening, you may notice the moon is somewhat larger than normal.

It's claimed that it will be the biggest and brightest it's been for 15 years, as it swings by the earth at its closest distance.

Howard Parkin from the Isle of Man Astronomical Society says it will appear bigger, but anybody lucky enough to see it may not notice a massive difference:

Weathermen say there may be some brighter weather much later this evening or tomorrow morning.
