Royal Manx Agricultural organisers plan for Saturday

Organisers of the Royal Manx Agricultural Show say they are planning to run the show as normal tomorrow (Sat 10).

Today's event was called off early this morning after high winds overnight damaged marquees and blew down tents, and heavy rain swept across the Island.

Police tweeted that the show will be on tomorrow - though there are no plans to extend it into Sunday.

Emily Kennaugh-Sansbury, daughter of Show Secretary Carol Kennaugh, says it's a great disappointment and she really feels for all those who have put so much effort into organising the event:

A final confirmation on whether tomorrow's show is going ahead will be made early tomorrow morning.

In a statement, Show Secretary Carol Kennaugh said:

"A full day is planned for the Royal Manx Agricultural Show tomorrow.

"The show will open at 9am, with all livestock classes running as planned, however, these may be subject to change of times.

"The Light Horse Section will commence at 8am and details of this will be announced in due course.

"A decision as to whether vehicles will be allowed on the show field will be made in the morning."
