Government planning to introduce rate
Government will step up and pay its staff the national living wage, according to one of Howard Quayle's top team.
The voluntary figure of £8.61 per hour is calculated on the cost of basic needs and 'decent' living standards for Island residents.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge has publicly supported calls for the government to lead by example and pay employees the living wage.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas says plans are in place to ensure this does happen in the near future:
