Investigations to take place after vessel hits wall in Heysham Port
The managing director of the Steam Packet Company has blamed 'tight entrances' at Heysham and Douglas as a factor in Wednesday's incident with the Manxman.
The vessel - which was delivered to the Island a little more than a year ago - collided with a wall as it entered the Lancashire port during rough weather in the early hours.
It caused minor damage and a temporary fix should see the Manxman back in service tonight.
Brian Thomson told Manx Radio an investigation will take place and lessons will be learned:
Post Office 'committed' to maintaining services in Port St Mary
Next store to remain open
Island's 'premier destination' for celebrations to close in December
