Moves to ban tobacco advertising in the Isle of Man get a step closer in the House of Keys next week.
The Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Bill 2015 is due to be steered through its second reading by Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle.
The new laws would outlaw advertising tobacco products on the Island – and ban cigarette vending machines.
Although the laws won’t cost government any money, explanatory notes predict the legislation will mean additional costs and reduce profits for businesses.
Mr Quayle admits that tobacco-selling outlets will have to absorb costs and go to extra lengths to meet new requirements, if the bill becomes law:
