Trader billed for work he hadn't done

The Office of Fair trading says it's hopeful a rogue trader on the Island will mend his ways after being fined by a court.

An unnamed company was prosecuted in a case brought by the OFT after the man behind it billed customers for work he hadn't done.

He admitted breaching the Consumer Protection Act.

OFT chief officer Paul Gelling says, as well as paying a fine and costs, the man has signed a written promise to trade fairly in future:
