Organised by the Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Association
One of the rural highlights of the Manx National day gets underway this afternoon (Friday, 5 July) just up the road from the formal proceedings at St Johns.
The Cronk y Voddy Sports day starts at 2pm with the marquee just off the Cronk y Voddy Straight opening at 12.30pm for hot and cold food and what are claimed to be the best homemade cakes in the west.
There are a wide range of events for children of all ages from cycle racing and sack races to a tug-of-war ... and, with luck, the open class dog racing.
All are welcome to attend the traditional event, organised by the Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Association, with proceeds going to Breast Cancer IOM.
