Two-day event showcases the agricultural sector
One of the highlights of the Manx farming calendar gets underway this morning (25 July).
Orrisdale Farm is once again hosting the Southern District Agricultural Show.
The two-day event sees those in the agriculture sector battle for prizes for their food and livestock.
There's also a wide range of activities taking place on the showground for the general public.
Traffic restrictions will be in place around the Orrisdale Road and St Marks Road.
Orrisdale Road, Ballasalla
- One-way traffic in a north-westerly direction - from its junction with the A5 Douglas to Castletown Road to its junction with the A26 St Marks Road - 9am on Saturday (25 July) until 6pm on Sunday (26 July)
- Road closed - between a point adjacent to ‘Orrisdale Farm Tourist Accommodation’ and the property ‘Gob Ny Geay’ - 9am until 6pm each day
- Prohibition of parking - on both sides for its entire length - until 6pm on Sunday
A5 Douglas to Castletown Road
- 30mph speed limit - from the existing 30 mph at the new Ballasalla Roundabout to a point adjacent to the Fairy Bridge - until 6pm on Sunday
A5 Douglas to Ballasalla Road
- Prohibition of parking - on both sides between the Old Castletown Road and Ballaquaggan Farm - until 6pm on Sunday
A26 St Marks Road
- 30mph speed limit - from the existing 30mph at a point 12 metres north-east of the northern boundary of the property Glenwood, Ballasalla to a point 86 metres south of the southern boundary of the Methodist Chapel, St Marks - until 6pm on Sunday
- Prohibition of parking - on both sides between Lower Ballachrink Farm and 100 metres south of Orrisdale Road - until 6pm on Sunday
