Travel industry on the up, despite external pressures

Local businessman remains positive after challenging year

The boss of Freedom Travel says despite external pressures, the industry has seen a rise in the past year.

Brexit, volatile exchange rates, the demise of several key travel agents such as Thomas Cook, plus more recently the coronavirus, have all had an impact on holidaymakers' habits.

But, Jan Wozniak is remaining positive:

In the latest update, Public Health Isle of Man said there have now been 14 concluded tests for coronavirus on the Isle of Man, but still no confirmed cases.

There had been ten tests on Wednesday - meaning four took place in 24 hours.

The organisation is issuing daily updates on its Facebook page.
