31-year-old pleads not guilty
A Douglas man will stand trial after denying a domestic abuse offence.
Diogo Miguel Monteiro Ramos, of Cushag Road, refutes that his alleged behaviour did, or could have, caused physical or psychological harm.
The charge dates between 18 and 26 January and was allegedly committed at his home address; the 31-year-old also denies a charge of common assault against a female from 27 August last year.
A pre-trial review will take place on 20 April; he’s been bailed until that date.
*UPDATE: At a court appearance on 13 July Ramos changed his plea to the common assault charge to guilty. The prosecution offered no evidence on separate charges of committing a domestic abuse offence, and damaging property, and these were withdrawn. He will be sentenced on 31 August.
