A former MHK and well-known figure in the local community has died.
Captain Andrew Douglas served the Malew and Santon constituency between 2002 and 2006, taking over the seat after former chief minister Donald Gelling stood down to become an MLC.
The 66 year old wrote a number of books and was a captain on Steam Packet vessels during his working life.
Mr Gelling says he’ll remember Captain Douglas fondly.
