Tribute to alleged manslaughter victim

The family of a man who died outside his home in Hillside Avenue, Douglas early on Saturday says it is 'devastated by his loss'.

In a short statement issued by police, 44-year-old Mark Green is described as 'a loving husband, father and son'.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with Mr Green's death.

Ryan James Oakey is also accused of affray and making threats to kill.

Mr Green, who worked at Ronaldsway Airport, is described as 'a big cuddly teddy bear of a man, who absolutely lit up a room as soon as he walked in.'

He was a passionate supporter of Liverpool football club and had lived with Jill, his wife and partner, for 14 years.

Mr Green had five children and step-children, and three grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his parents, two sisters and many friends.
