Tribute to Manx WWI fallen

Display at Manx Aviation and Military Museum

A special tribute will be paid the fallen Manxmen of the First World War at the Manx Aviation and Military Museum on Saturday (4 Aug).

The day marks the 104th anniversary of Britain entering the conflict.

To commemorate there will be an exhibition of 'There But Not There' figures, featuring the names of Islanders who served in the New Zealand and Australian armies during the Great War.

It's in conjunction with the launch of a commemorative set of stamps, featuring the men.

Museum Director Ivor Ramsden says it will be an emotional display:

The museum is open to the public from 10.30am on Saturday morning.
