Trips for Chernobyl's Children will continue

The chairman of a local charity is scotching rumours it's set to end the work it does for children in a former Soviet republic.

The Friends of Chernobyl's Children Isle of Man brings youngsters from Belarus to the Island every year, for a holiday and much more.

Their country was the worst affected by fallout from an explosion at the infamous Ukranian power plant in 1986 and, nearly quarter of a century later, continues to have problems with the radiation.

Norman Rivers, who also acts as the charity's co-ordinator, says they have no intention whatsoever of stopping the trips:
