TT Marshals Association to open and immediately adjourn EGM

Board says documents appear to show member register isn't accurate

An extraordinary general meeting of the TT Marshals Association, due to be held this evening (2 March) is to be opened and immediately adjourned.

It comes after the Board was made aware that a number of documents and records belonging to the company, were apparently being held by an ex-officer, without the knowledge or authority of the Board.

The discovery was made at a recent EGM on 9 February.

Following the meeting the board took immediate steps to recover these documents and records, which were subsequently returned to the Board on Monday.

The statement adds that it appears from the documents, which date back many years, that the company's register of members is not accurate.

It says this would explain why some members did not receive notice of the recent EGM.

As notice of the meeting must be given to all members, the Board has no option but to delay the meeting until it's had the opportunity to properly examine the documentation, and take legal advice on the best way forward.

The board will issue an update as soon as it's able.
