Minister says timescale is tight, but possible
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says although he’d like Laxey’s new bridge to be open by TT, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if the timetable slips.
Last week, the department put in a planning application for the replacement span with a design featuring two lighthouses.
Mr Gawne says although he’d like it in place for the start of the festival, the timescale for building it is very tight.
And he says people shouldn’t consider the festival to be an absolute deadline:
CoMin making 'significant and determined efforts' to implement recommendations from Ranson review
Rain events 'difficult to forecast' on the Isle of Man
Planning permission granted for 26 industrial units
Port St Mary Commissioners urging residents not to 'struggle in silence'
