Two health department events today

A new Oral Health Strategy for the Isle of Man is being formally launched this morning (Thursday).

A strategy document was put out to public consultation last year.

One of the main aims of the strategy will be to reduce the number of young children on the Island with tooth decay.

Last year it was claimed more than half of the Island's five year olds had dental caries.

The Department of Health strategy will also stress the importance of self care.

This afternoon, the department's Independent Living Centre, at the Central Community Health Centre in Westmoreland Road, Douglas will be officially opened by the ministers for health and social care.
