Clothing and homeware store to leave Strand Street next month
Two large retailers are said to have expressed an interest in the unit currently occupied by Next.
The clothing and homeware retailer has confirmed it won't be renewing its lease, on Strand Street in Douglas, which is due to expire on 30 June.
While Next said it wanted to remain trading on the Island it claimed the landlord put forward terms that weren't 'commercially acceptable'.
The retailer also told Manx Radio there are no active plans to look at reopening the store elsewhere.
Building owners Kelproperties say the retail giant would only agree to pay a third of the previous agreement which it was not prepared to accept.
