Work to be completed by August next year
A major investment in primary education in the Island's capital.
That is how Education Minister Graham Cregeen has described a £3.6 million extension and refurbishment of St Mary's Primary School in Douglas,
Tynwald today (Tuesday) agreed to fund a scheme to replace and enhance what Mr Cregeen called 'inadequate' core facilities, developed in the 1960's.
Plans were first unveiled last May with pupils and parents invited to comment on the proposals.
Work should begin imminantly and be completed by August next year.
